GPS Solar 2026 Limited Edition — 1,500 Pieces

A burgundy dial under an all-black case is an unusual combination for the Astron line, and it is what the Seiko Astron HAB010J1 is built around. The case is titanium with a black super-hard coating and a multifaceted bezel; pink-gold accents pick the dial up, and the bracelet runs mirror-polished centre links through the middle. Seiko describes the edition as drawn from the radiance of crystals hidden within jet-black rock.

It is limited to 1,500 pieces, each with its own serial number engraved on the screw case back beneath the LIMITED EDITION marking. Calibre 5X63 takes its time from the GPS network and its power from light, holding approximately six months of running on a full charge. The 43.4mm case carries a 24-hour chronograph reading to 1/20 of a second, a dual-time function, world time for 38 cities and a perpetual calendar running to 2100.

Why You'll Love It

  • Burgundy against black titanium, lifted by pink-gold accents and the mirror-polished centre links running down the bracelet.
  • One of only 1,500 pieces, and identifiable as yours — the serial number is engraved on the case back alongside the LIMITED EDITION marking.
  • Nothing to set and nothing to replace. It reads the time from the GPS network and charges from light, running roughly six months on a full charge and about two years in power save.
  • A chronograph that counts to 24 hours in 1/20-second steps, so an overnight measurement never has to restart at twelve.
  • Two ways to wear it in one box — the titanium bracelet plus an additional calf strap, exchanged at the press of the quick-change button.

Key Features

  • GPS Solar 2026 Limited Edition — 1,500 pieces, with LIMITED EDITION and an individual serial number engraved on the screw case back.
  • Calibre 5X63 GPS Solar movement — 14 jewels. Seiko states precision as ±15 seconds per month when the watch is not receiving a GPS signal, at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C, with approximately six months of running from a full charge and a power save mode of around two years.
  • 24-hour chronograph in 1/20-second increments — with a dual-time function, a day display and a power reserve indicator, plus a time transfer function that switches the readings between the main dial and the sub-dial.
  • GPS signal reception — covering time zone adjustment and both automatic and manual time adjustment, with a satellite acquisition status display, a reception result display, daylight saving time and an in-flight mode that suspends reception.
  • World time for 38 cities and a perpetual calendar to 28 February 2100 — with automatic hand position alignment, overcharge prevention and a power save function.
  • Titanium case with a black super-hard coating — behind sapphire crystal with a super-clear coating, and LumiBrite on the hands and indexes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many were made?

1,500, as a GPS Solar 2026 Limited Edition. The case back carries the LIMITED EDITION marking and the individual serial number of the piece, so a specific watch can be identified. Singapore takes a share of the total rather than the full run.

What keeps it charged?

Light. The dial feeds a rechargeable cell, which holds approximately six months of running when fully charged and stretches to around two years if the watch is put away in the dark. There is no battery to replace at a service interval.

What happens where there is no GPS signal?

It keeps time on its own at a stated ±15 seconds per month, measured at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Seiko also builds in manual time adjustment, so the watch can be set by hand indoors or anywhere reception is poor, and it resumes adjusting itself once a signal is available.

What does the time transfer function do?

It swaps the readings between the main dial and the sub-dial. If you have been tracking a second zone on the sub-dial and then land in it, the transfer promotes that zone to the main hands rather than making you reset the watch.

Can I swim with it?

The rating is 10 bar, which Seiko's water-resistance table describes as suitable for diving that does not use an air cylinder — swimming and snorkelling are within it. It is not a diver's watch and is not rated for scuba. A 10 bar rating is a pressure measurement, not an instruction to take the watch to 100 metres.

What is included?

The watch on its titanium bracelet, with an additional calf leather strap. Seiko notes the strap comes from a Leather Working Group certified tannery. The quick-change system releases either band at the press of a button, so no tools are needed.

Is the bracelet adjustable?

Yes. Links can be added or removed to size it, and the three-fold clasp has an easy-adjust mechanism for fine-tuning without tools. City Chain offers complimentary bracelet sizing at any outlet — bring your warranty book along for the service.
