Frequently Asked Questions
How does the chronograph work?
The stopwatch runs independently of the time display. It stops automatically at the end of its measuring range (see the specifications) and cannot measure split times. Before use, check that the chronograph hands sit at zero.
What is the 24-hour hand for?
It moves with the hour hand and shows whether the time displayed is AM or PM.
How do I set the date?
Pull the crown to the first click and turn it clockwise. Seiko’s manual for calibre 8T63 says not to set the date between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., as this may stop the date changing the next day. The date also needs adjusting by hand at the end of February and in 30-day months.
Can I swim and shower with it?
Seiko’s guide for 10 bar watches allows accidental splashes, rain, swimming, yachting, showers, bathing and shallow diving. It does not allow scuba or saturation diving, and the rating is not a depth to dive to. Do not turn or pull out the crown when the watch is wet. Rinse it in fresh water after the sea or a pool. Water resistance is not permanent, so have it checked regularly.
How will I know when the battery is low?
Seiko’s manual says that if the small seconds hand moves once every 2 seconds, the battery is about to run out. Bring it to us for a replacement as soon as possible.

A 3-year warranty when purchased from City Chain Singapore, an authorised Seiko retailer. It covers manufacturing defects rather than accidental damage or wear. Keep your warranty card, as it is needed for warranty service.
