It turns one way only, so a knock can only make the reading look longer than reality, never shorter. That is the safety principle behind every diver's bezel.
What does the screw-down crown do?
It threads into the case rather than simply pushing in, which seals the opening the crown passes through. Make sure it is screwed fully home before the watch goes near water — an unscrewed crown is the most common reason a water-resistant watch lets water in.
How does the automatic movement work?
A weighted rotor inside Calibre 4R35 turns as your wrist moves, winding the mainspring. Wearing it through a normal day keeps it running. You can also wind it by hand using the crown, which is the quickest way to start it from cold.
What happens if I do not wear it for a few days?
It stops. The power reserve is approximately 41 hours from a full wind, so a watch set down on Friday evening will usually have stopped by Sunday. Wind it by hand, reset the time and date, and carry on. This is normal for a mechanical watch and does no harm.
How does 41.7mm wear?
Comfortably, for a diver. Most dive watches run thick, and at 12.3mm this one is noticeably slimmer than the 200-metre rating would suggest — slim enough to go under a shirt cuff, which is unusual at this depth rating. Any City Chain outlet can put it on your wrist.
