The GG-B100XM-1ADR is the metal-bezel Mudmaster — the same Quad Sensor, mud-resistant, Carbon Core Guard platform as the resin-bezel GG-B100X, but with a forged stainless steel bezel finished with a honed matte surface. The honing process delivers outstanding scratch resistance that protects against mud and dust while creating a subtle matte texture that minimises reflected light — a functional finish, not a cosmetic one. The bezel's complex form of multiple surfaces, bevelled edges, and contoured sides is shaped through forging, with each face finished using a different polishing technique. The silver stainless steel against the black carbon fiber-reinforced case body creates a two-tone material contrast that makes the bezel the visual anchor of the watch.
Module 5744 is identical to the resin-bezel GG-B100X: Quad Sensor (digital compass with hand indication of north, altimeter up to 10,000 metres with auto logging, barometer with pressure tendency alarm, thermometer, and step counter via 3-axis accelerometer), Bluetooth smartphone link with Mission Log, Carbon Core Guard with carbon fiber-reinforced bio-based resin case, mud-resistant sealed buttons, stainless steel panel back, double LED Super Illuminator, world time across 38 time zones, sunrise/sunset display, Neobrite lume, and 200-metre water resistance. The metal bezel adds 11 grams — 104 g versus the X's 93 g — and brings a tangible solidity and scratch resistance that the resin bezel doesn't have. Same case dimensions: 55.4 × 51.3 × 19.4 mm. CR2025, approximately two-year battery life.

Why You'll Love It
- The forged stainless steel bezel is what separates the XM from every other Mudmaster variant. It's shaped through forging — not stamped or cast — with multiple surfaces, bevelled edges, and contoured sides each finished with different polishing techniques. The honed matte surface is specifically chosen for field use: it resists scratches from mud, dust, and debris, and the matte texture minimises light reflection so the bezel doesn't flash or glare in direct sunlight. It's a tool finish designed for the environments the Mudmaster is built for.
- The two-tone material combination — silver stainless steel bezel against the black carbon fiber-reinforced case body — gives the XM a refined, technical aesthetic that the all-black resin GG-B100X doesn't have. The metal bezel adds visual weight and a sense of engineered precision that elevates the Mudmaster from rugged tool to rugged-refined crossover.
- At 104 grams, the XM is 11 grams heavier than the resin-bezel X (93 g). The difference is perceptible but not burdensome — the metal bezel adds a solid, grounded feel on the wrist that communicates quality. The carbon fiber-reinforced resin case body and bio-based resin band keep the rest of the watch light.
- The Quad Sensor system is identical to the X variants: compass bearing with analog hand indication of north, altimeter up to 10,000 metres with auto logging, barometer with pressure tendency alarm for incoming weather, thermometer, and step counter. The metal bezel changes the look and scratch resistance, not the sensor capability.
- Mud resistance, Carbon Core Guard, Bluetooth Mission Log, sunrise/sunset display, double LED Super Illuminator, 200-metre water resistance — every functional spec carries over from the resin-bezel models. The XM is the same Mudmaster underneath, dressed in stainless steel on top.
- Bio-based resin for key case and band components. The combination of forged stainless steel, carbon fiber-reinforced resin, and bio-based materials makes this one of the most material-diverse G-Shocks in the lineup — three distinct material technologies in one watch.
