The Citizen NK5020-58L Zenshin 60 takes the material Citizen has spent five decades refining and builds a small-seconds automatic around it. The case and integrated bracelet are Super Titanium with Duratect surface treatment — lighter than stainless steel, hypoallergenic, and far more resistant to the everyday scuffs that dull a polished steel case. At 40.5mm and roughly 100 grams on the wrist, it is noticeably lighter than a steel watch of the same size, which is the first thing you notice and the reason people keep wearing it.
The light blue dial carries a vertical striated texture and a soft gradient that deepens toward the edges, with a small seconds subdial set between 4 and 5 o'clock and applied luminous indexes above. A twelve-sided bezel gives the case its angular character. Inside is Citizen's in-house Calibre 8322 — automatic with manual winding and a stop-seconds function, 21 jewels, and a 60-hour power reserve visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback. Rated to 100 metres, it is built to be worn rather than kept aside.
Zenshin translates roughly as advancement or progress. Citizen introduced the world's first titanium watch in 1970, and the Super Titanium and Duratect technologies that followed are the reason this collection carries that name.

Why You'll Love It
- Super Titanium is the reason to buy this watch. At around 100 grams on a 40.5mm case with a full bracelet, it wears lighter than almost anything comparable in steel — the difference is obvious within an hour of putting it on.
- Duratect surface treatment hardens the titanium against scratches, so the finish holds up to desk edges, door frames and daily handling far better than an untreated case would.
- A 60-hour power reserve means you can take it off Friday evening and it will still be running Monday morning — a practical advantage over the 40-hour automatics that dominate this segment.
- The small seconds subdial between 4 and 5 o'clock is an unusual placement that breaks up the dial asymmetrically, giving the watch a character most three-hand automatics do not have.
- The light blue dial reads as calm rather than bright, with a vertical striated texture and a gradient that deepens toward the edges so the colour shifts as the light moves across it.
- The twelve-sided bezel gives the case defined edges that catch light differently to a round bezel, and it is the design cue that makes the Zenshin recognisable at a glance.
- Titanium is hypoallergenic, which makes this a sound choice if steel bracelets have ever irritated your skin.
- The sapphire exhibition caseback puts the Calibre 8322 and its rotor on display — an in-house Citizen movement rather than a bought-in one.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Super Titanium?
Super Titanium is Citizen's proprietary titanium alloy, finished with Duratect — a surface-hardening treatment developed in-house. Compared with stainless steel it is lighter and hypoallergenic, and the Duratect layer makes it considerably more resistant to scratching than untreated titanium. Citizen introduced the world's first titanium watch in 1970 and has been developing the material ever since.
Does this watch have a date?
No. The Zenshin 60 displays hours, minutes and small seconds only. The subdial between 4 and 5 o'clock is a running seconds register, not a date or power reserve indicator. If you need a date, look at the Citizen mechanical models with a 3 o'clock date window instead.
Which Zenshin 60 colour should I choose?
All four share the same Super Titanium case, Calibre 8322 movement, 60-hour power reserve and 100m water resistance — only the dial colour changes. The NK5020-58L is light blue, the most versatile and easiest to wear daily. The NK5020-58M is dark blue and the most formal. The NK5020-58X is green. The NK5020-58P is copper and the warmest of the four. Browse the full Citizen Zenshin collection.
How long does the power reserve last?
Approximately 60 hours when fully wound — two and a half days. Take it off on Friday evening and it will usually still be running on Monday morning, which is the practical advantage of the Calibre 8322 over the 40-hour movements common at this level.
What does the stop-seconds function do?
When you pull the crown out to the time-setting position, the small seconds hand stops completely. This lets you synchronise the watch to a reference clock down to the exact second. Push the crown back in and the seconds hand resumes.
How accurate is a mechanical watch?
The Calibre 8322 is rated at -20 to +40 seconds per day. Mechanical movements are not as precise as quartz by design — the appeal is the engineering, the absence of a battery and the movement you can watch through the caseback. Most owners reset the time every week or two.
Can I wind this watch by hand?
Yes. The Calibre 8322 supports manual winding as well as automatic winding. If the watch has stopped, turn the crown clockwise around 20 to 30 times to get it running, then wear it normally to keep it wound.
Can I swim with this watch?
Yes. With 100-metre water resistance it is suitable for swimming and recreational water sports. It is not rated for scuba diving. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is submerged, and rinse with fresh water after saltwater or pool exposure.
Is the bracelet adjustable?
Yes. The Super Titanium bracelet can be resized by adding or removing links. City Chain offers complimentary bracelet sizing at any outlet — bring your warranty book along for the service.
What warranty does this watch come with?
The NK5020-58L comes with a 3-year warranty when purchased from City Chain Singapore, an authorised Citizen retailer. Keep your warranty card and proof of purchase — both are required when submitting the watch for service at any City Chain outlet.
