The Citizen CA4680-55L is a chronograph that gets the contrast right. The dial is a sunray light blue — pale, with the brushing catching light across it — and the three chronograph registers are black. That decision is the whole watch: black on pale blue reads instantly, where a matched-tone layout on a busy dial does not.
The chronograph measures to 1/5 second, up to 60 minutes, alongside a 12/24-hour indicator and a date window. Three functions, cleanly laid out, none of them decorative.
It runs on Eco-Drive Calibre B620 — any light charges it, roughly nine months of reserve from full, no battery to replace at any point. What can the chronograph measure?
Elapsed time to one-fifth of a second, running up to a maximum of 60 minutes. Press the top pusher to start and stop, the lower pusher to reset. That resolution is fine enough for timing a run, a workout interval, a parking meter or anything else you would otherwise time on a phone.
What colour is the dial?
A pale sunray light blue, with the three chronograph registers picked out in black. The sunray brushing lifts the blue toward near-white in daylight and settles it cooler indoors, and the black registers give the contrast that keeps a three-register dial readable.
How does Eco-Drive work?
A solar cell beneath the dial converts light into electrical energy and stores it in a rechargeable cell. Any light works — sunlight, office lighting, a lamp. Normal daily wear keeps it running indefinitely, and there is no battery to replace at any point in the watch's life.
Does using the chronograph drain the charge?
It uses more energy than normal timekeeping, which on a conventional quartz chronograph is why the battery dies sooner if you use the stopwatch often. With Eco-Drive the watch simply recharges in daylight, so there is no reason to leave the function unused.
What happens if I don't wear it for a while?
A fully charged watch keeps running for approximately nine months in complete darkness. If it does stop, leaving it in bright light for a few hours restarts it and you simply reset the time. Storing it face-up near a window rather than in a closed drawer avoids the issue.
What is the insufficient charge warning?
When the charge runs low, the seconds hand starts moving in two-second jumps instead of one. That is the watch telling you it needs light. Place it somewhere bright for a few hours and normal operation resumes.
What is the Sport Luxury line?
It is Citizen's name for the range this model belongs to — designs that pair sport-watch functions with dressier finishing and proportions. In practice that means a working chronograph in a slimmer case than a dedicated sports chronograph would use.
Will 40.5mm fit my wrist?
40.5mm suits wrists from roughly 16.5cm upward, and it is at the smaller end for a chronograph — most start at 42mm. At 11.2mm thick it also sits considerably flatter than the category norm, so it wears smaller than the diameter suggests.
Can I swim with this watch?
Yes. With 100-metre (10 BAR) water resistance it is suitable for swimming, showering and snorkelling. It is not rated for scuba diving. Do not operate the chronograph pushers while the watch is submerged, and rinse with fresh water after saltwater or pool exposure.
