The Citizen CA4667-53L is a special-edition Blue Angels Promaster Air Navihawk — built in tribute to the US Navy's elite flight demonstration squadron, and carrying their colourway, their insignia and their instrument-panel logic on the wrist.
The defining feature is the slide-rule scale on the blue ion-plated bidirectional bezel. It is a genuine aviation tool: rotate the outer ring against the inner scale and you can work out fuel burn, ground speed, distance, unit conversions — the calculations pilots have used circular slide rules for since long before glass cockpits. Most watches that look like this do not have one.
The 40mm silver-tone stainless steel case is sharply faceted with satin finishing, on a triple-link bracelet. The dial runs the Blue Angels colourway with black and white accents for legibility, under sapphire crystal, and the caseback is signed with the Blue Angels insignia. Inside is Eco-Drive Calibre B620 — any light charges it, roughly nine months of reserve, no battery ever. The chronograph measures to 1/5 second up to 60 minutes, with 12/24-hour displays and a date. Water resistant to 200 metres.

Why You'll Love It
- The slide-rule bezel is a working instrument, not decoration. Rotate the outer ring against the inner scale to calculate speed, distance, fuel burn or unit conversions — the same circular slide rule aviation has relied on for decades.
- It is a Blue Angels special edition, complete with the squadron's colourway on the dial and their insignia signed into the caseback. That is a genuine reason to own this one over a standard Navihawk.
- A chronograph that never needs a battery. Running the stopwatch is what flattens a conventional quartz cell fastest — with Eco-Drive there is no reason to hold back, and roughly nine months of reserve from a full charge.
- The blue-black-and-white colourway is chosen for legibility, not just looks. On a busy dial with a slide rule, three sub-dials and a date, contrast is what keeps it readable at a glance.
- Sapphire crystal and 200 metres of water resistance mean it handles far more than a desk. Swimming and water sports are comfortably within its rating.
- At 40mm it is more wearable than most pilot chronographs, which typically start at 43mm and up. The sharp faceting and satin finishing give it presence without the bulk.
- The triple-link bracelet is a step above the flat-link bracelets usually fitted at this level, and it balances the case weight properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I scuba dive with this watch?
No. This is an aviation watch, not a diver's watch. It carries 200 metres of water resistance, which comfortably covers swimming, snorkelling and water sports, but it is not a certified diver's watch and should not be used for scuba diving. Never operate the chronograph pushers or rotate the bezel while the watch is submerged. If you need a watch for diving, the Citizen Promaster Dive models are certified for it — that is a different line.
What are the Blue Angels?
The United States Navy's flight demonstration squadron, known for precision aerobatic formation flying. Citizen produces Promaster models in tribute to them, and this reference carries the squadron's colourway on the dial and their insignia signed into the caseback.
What does the slide-rule bezel do?
It is a circular slide rule — the same calculating tool aviation has used for decades. Line up the rotating outer scale against the fixed inner scale and you can work out ground speed, distance, flight time, fuel consumption and unit conversions such as nautical miles to kilometres, or litres to gallons. It takes a little practice, and the instruction manual covers the common calculations.
Is this a Promaster Dive or a Promaster Air?
Promaster Air. Citizen's Promaster range covers Air, Land and Dive, each engineered for a different environment. This is the Air Navihawk — an aviation chronograph with a slide-rule bezel. The Dive models are the ones built and certified for underwater use.
What can the chronograph measure?
Elapsed time to one-fifth of a second, running up to a maximum of 60 minutes, operated by the pushers either side of the crown.
How does Eco-Drive work?
A solar cell beneath the dial converts light into electrical energy and stores it in a rechargeable cell. Any light works — sunlight, cabin lighting, a lamp. Normal daily wear keeps it running indefinitely, and there is no battery to replace at any point in the watch's life.
Does using the chronograph drain the charge?
It uses more energy than normal timekeeping, which on a conventional quartz chronograph is why the battery dies sooner with frequent stopwatch use. With Eco-Drive the watch recharges in daylight, so there is no reason to leave the function unused.
What happens if I don't wear it for a while?
A fully charged watch keeps running for approximately nine months in complete darkness. If it does stop, leaving it in bright light for a few hours restarts it and you simply reset the time. Storing it face-up near a window rather than in a closed drawer avoids the issue.
Will 40mm fit my wrist?
40mm is moderate for a pilot chronograph — most start at 43mm and up — so this suits wrists from roughly 16cm upward. At 13.5mm thick it has real depth, which is normal for a chronograph with a slide-rule bezel, so it will sit taller than a plain three-hander.
Is the bracelet adjustable?
Yes. The stainless steel bracelet can be resized by adding or removing links. City Chain offers complimentary bracelet sizing at any outlet — bring your warranty book along for the service.
What warranty does this watch come with?
The CA4667-53L comes with a 3-year warranty when purchased from City Chain Singapore, an authorised Citizen retailer. Keep your warranty card and proof of purchase — both are required when submitting the watch for service at any City Chain outlet.
