The Citizen CA4691-59L is the blue Zenshin Senkei chronograph — Senkei being the Japanese for "clear lines", which is the brief the whole watch is built to. The case is a multi-sided design that integrates directly into a three-row bracelet, all in Super Titanium: Citizen states it is 40% lighter and five times harder than stainless steel, and it is scratch- and rust-resistant.
The dial is textured blue with a fine grid-like pattern, applied luminous indexes and three concentric-grained sub-dials. Blue is the version where the texture shows best — the pattern catches light across a coloured surface in a way it cannot on white, so the dial shifts between deeper and brighter tones as the wrist moves. The running-seconds register above 6 o'clock is finished in a contrasting tone to the two chronograph totalisers at 3 and 9, so you can tell at a glance which sub-dial is doing what.
A deeply knurled crown and brushed finishing throughout complete it. Inside, Eco-Drive Calibre B620 runs on any light with a nine-month reserve and accuracy of about ±15 seconds a month. The chronograph measures to 1/5 second up to 60 minutes, with 12/24-hour time and a date window at 4:30. Sapphire crystal, screw-in Super Titanium caseback, 100-metre water resistance, 41mm across and 11.7mm thick.

Why You'll Love It
- Super Titanium is 40% lighter than stainless steel. On a 41mm chronograph with a full integrated bracelet — the heaviest configuration in watchmaking — that difference is obvious within an hour and never stops being the reason you reach for it.
- It is also five times harder than stainless steel and scratch- and rust-resistant, so unlike ordinary titanium it holds its finish rather than marking on the first desk edge.
- Blue is where the grid texture earns its place. On a coloured dial the pattern catches light and shifts tone across the surface; on a plain white face the same texture is far quieter.
- The contrasting sub-seconds register is a genuinely thoughtful piece of design. On most three-register chronographs all the sub-dials look alike and you have to think about which is which; here the distinction is instant.
- A chronograph that never needs a battery. Stopwatch use is what flattens a conventional quartz cell fastest, so most owners quietly stop using it — with Eco-Drive there is no reason to.
- Nine months of reserve from a full charge, and accuracy of around 15 seconds a month. Set it and forget it.
- The multi-sided bezel and deeply knurled crown are the details that stop it looking generic in profile — you get definition and grip rather than a smooth slab.
- Titanium is hypoallergenic, which matters on a chronograph that sits against the skin all day.

Key Features
- Super Titanium case, bezel and bracelet with Duratect — Citizen's proprietary titanium alloy with surface hardening: 40% lighter and five times harder than stainless steel, scratch-resistant, rust-resistant and hypoallergenic.
- Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre B620 — powered by any light source, natural or artificial, with a nine-month power reserve from a full charge and accuracy of approximately ±15 seconds per month. No battery replacement, ever.
- Chronograph to 1/5 second, up to 60 minutes — a stopwatch with genuine resolution, displayed across the 3 and 9 o'clock totalisers.
- Contrasting sub-seconds register — the running-seconds sub-dial above 6 o'clock is finished in a contrasting tone so it reads clearly apart from the chronograph totalisers.
- Textured blue dial with grid pattern — with applied luminous indexes and three concentric-grained sub-dials.
- 12/24-hour time and date at 4:30 — a second time reading on its own register, and a date window set between 4 and 5 o'clock.
- Multi-sided bezel and deeply knurled crown — the design signature of the Senkei line, with brushed finishing throughout.
- Sapphire crystal and screw-in Super Titanium caseback — rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, with a sealed screw-in back in matching material.
- Integrated three-row Super Titanium bracelet — flows directly from the case, with a folding clasp and push-button release.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does "Zenshin Senkei" mean?
Zenshin translates roughly as advancement, and Senkei is Japanese for "clear lines". The Senkei chronographs are the sharper-edged, more angular interpretation of the Zenshin Super Titanium line, with a multi-sided bezel and a redesigned dial layout.
Should I choose the blue or the white dial?
Identical specifications — same 41mm Super Titanium case, Calibre B620, 100m water resistance and chronograph functions. Only the dial changes. The blue CA4691-59L shows the grid texture more clearly and reads as the sportier of the two. The CA4690-51A in white is cleaner and more formal. Browse the full Citizen Zenshin collection.
Why is one sub-dial a different colour?
Deliberately. The running-seconds register above 6 o'clock is finished in a contrasting tone to the two chronograph totalisers at 3 and 9. On most three-register chronographs the sub-dials all look alike and you have to work out which is which; here the distinction is immediate.
How much lighter is Super Titanium than steel?
Citizen states 40% lighter, and five times harder, than stainless steel. On a 41mm chronograph with a full integrated bracelet that is the difference between a watch you wear all day and one you take off at lunch.
Does titanium scratch more easily than steel?
Untreated titanium does, which is the usual objection to it. Citizen's Duratect surface treatment addresses that directly — Super Titanium is five times harder than stainless steel and scratch- and rust-resistant, so this case and bracelet hold their finish better than a steel equivalent rather than worse.
What can the chronograph measure?
Elapsed time to one-fifth of a second, running up to a maximum of 60 minutes, using the totalisers at 3 and 9 o'clock and the central chronograph seconds hand.
Where is the date window?
At the 4:30 position, between 4 and 5 o'clock, rather than the usual 3 o'clock. That placement keeps the three sub-dials symmetrical and the dial uncluttered.
How does Eco-Drive work?
A solar cell beneath the dial converts light into electrical energy and stores it in a rechargeable cell. Any light works — sunlight, office lighting, a lamp. Normal daily wear keeps it running indefinitely, and there is no battery to replace at any point in the watch's life.
Does using the chronograph drain the charge?
It uses more energy than normal timekeeping, which on a conventional quartz chronograph is why the battery dies sooner with frequent stopwatch use. With Eco-Drive the watch recharges in daylight, so there is no reason to leave the function unused.
What happens if I don't wear it for a while?
A fully charged watch keeps running for approximately nine months in complete darkness. If it does stop, leaving it in bright light for a few hours restarts it and you simply reset the time. Storing it face-up near a window rather than in a closed drawer avoids the issue.
Can I swim with this watch?
Yes. With 100-metre (10 BAR) water resistance it is suitable for swimming, showering and snorkelling. It is not rated for scuba diving. Do not operate the chronograph pushers while the watch is submerged, and rinse with fresh water after saltwater or pool exposure.
Is the bracelet adjustable?
Yes. The Super Titanium bracelet can be resized by adding or removing links. City Chain offers complimentary bracelet sizing at any outlet — bring your warranty book along for the service.
What warranty does this watch come with?
The CA4691-59L comes with a 3-year warranty when purchased from City Chain Singapore, an authorised Citizen retailer. Keep your warranty card and proof of purchase — both are required when submitting the watch for service at any City Chain outlet.
