This 1970 Diver’s modern reinterpretation timepiece was named ‘Captain Willard’ by fans for Martin Sheen’s character who wore it in the ‘Apocalypse Now’ movie.
The original 1970 Diver’s timepiece was worn by Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura, the first man in the world to climb the highest peaks of each five continents – wearing a Seiko diving watch whilst he did it.
This 2021 version comes with calibre 6R35 and its long-lasting 70 hour power reserve.
The crown at 4 o’clock position for comfort and practicality is protected by the wide flowing case design around it, creating its signature look.
It is accompanied by Seiko’s first ever original nylon strap for diver’s watches – the ‘SEICHU,” made in Japan, designed for flexibility and durability.
Seiko Prospex challenges every limit, with a collection of timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative technology has changed global standards. We are constantly striving to bring ever greater reliability and safety to both professional and recreational divers.
